Kitchen & Bathroom Cabinets
Choosing your cabinet style will have a lot to do with the overall harmony of your home, so it needs to be both easy to clean and comfortable. Our designers can help you make the right choices, as it can be overwhelming.
There are two types of kitchen/bathroom cabinets, one that is framed and one that is unframed or frame-less. Framed cabinets have each door and drawer surrounded by an outer frame. A center stile separates each door on two door cabinets and usually you can see a space between the drawers. Frame-less cabinets have no stiles or outer frames. The doors cover the entire cabinet box so you have full, easy access to items in the cabinets.
Here are a few cabinet styles from which to choose:
• French Cabinets
• European and Euro Frame Cabinets
• Transitional Cabinets
• Art Deco
• English Cabinets
• French Country Cabinets
Another consideration when planning your kitchen and/or bathroom is the type of wood and finish on the cabinets. Natural woods are wonderful and rich to look at and make outstanding cabinets. These are some of the many woods to consider when remodeling.
• Alder and Knotty Alder (Also indigenous to this area)
• Birch/Red Birch/White Birch
• Pine/Knotty Pine
• Mahogany
• Oak/White and White Wash Oak
• French Country Cabinets
• Cherry
• Walnut
• Hickory
• Maple
The finishes on cabinets – as with furniture – can be stained, hand rubbed, lacquered, distressed, glazed and painted just to mention a few. By carefully planning and working with a qualified designer, you can have the truly elegant and natural kitchen and bath of your dreams.
